Kanpur: PM Vishwakarma-cum-Trade Fair is being organized by MSME Development Office Kanpur from 10-12 September 2024. Vishwakarma artisans from 25 districts of Uttar Pradesh (Auraiya, Basti, Barabanki, Kushinagar, Deoria, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Hardoi, Jalaun, Jhansi, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Lucknow, Mahoba, Rae Bareli, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Unnao) are showcasing their art and products in this exhibition. A total of 130 participants are participating in this program in 65 stalls.
This exhibition was inaugurated by Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister, MSME, Khadi Village Industries and Handloom Department, Uttar Pradesh by lighting the lamp. Vijayendra Pandian, I.A.S., Commissioner and Director, Directorate of Industries and Enterprise Promotion, Uttar Pradesh was also present.
The event was also attended by Vishnu Kumar Verma, Joint Director (IEDS), MSME Development Office Kanpur, Sandeep Agarwal, Assistant Director, Grade-1, and Gaurav Arya, Assistant Director, Grade-2. After the inauguration, Vishnu Kumar Verma welcomed the guests, journalists and artisans and informed about the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
Minister Rakesh Sachan said that through this scheme more people will be added to bring traditional industries into global competition. K. Vijayendra Pandian spoke about the verification of all the artisans and appreciated the step taken by the Prime Minister, which will give a new look to the traditional industries and reduce unemployment.
The Minister inspected the art and products made by the artisans of 18 trades from 25 districts at the exhibition and assured them that the benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana will be extended to the artisans soon.
NSIC, KVIC and FFDC displayed their products and art in the exhibition. Reserve Bank of India (RBI), SLBC and CSC also set up their stalls and concerned officials made their presence felt. Officials of the association related to Vishwakarma artisans were also present on the occasion.
